THE RENAISSANCE IS far from over.
Following the mammoth success of 2022's Renaissance, Beyonc has announced that another album is on the way. In Verizon's Super Bowl commercial, aired on February 12 Australian time, the musician quipped, OK, they ready-drop the new music. I told y'all the Renaissance is not over." As the ad aired, Beyonc posted a series of teaser videos on Instagram, followed by a carousel post of the respective single art for her new tracks "Texas Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages."
While the best of surprises, Beyonc has always been clear that Renaissance would not be a stand-alone record. Back when it was released in 2022, she noted that it would be part of a three-act project." If the tracks she's released from her upcoming record are anything to go by, it seems each part of the project will have a different sound, blending genres and contributing to, as intended, a cultural renaissance. Below, what we know about Beyonc's album titled Cowboy Carter including the recently-revealed cover art and details about its sound and symbolism.

What is Beyonc's new album called?
Introducing Cowboy Carter. On March 12, the Instagram account for Beyonc's company, Parkwood Entertainment, announced Act II's official title sharing a promotional artwork along with the news, depicting a horse saddle with a patriotic sash draped across, reading: "Cowboy Carter."
What is Beyonc's new album about?
On March 19, Beyonc shared the stunning cover art for Cowboy Carter to Instagram which sees her horseback while wearing a rodeo-inspired catsuit, white cowboy hatand white heeled boots. In the caption, she revealed the album has been five-years in the making-inspired by a bad experience where she "did not feel welcomed." Some reports suggest it could be in relation to her 2016 performance at the Country Music Awards (CMAs) where she received racist backlash for singing her country pop song, "Daddy Lessons," alongside The Dixie Chicks.
This album has been over five years in the making, the 32-time-Grammy winner explained in her note. It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomedand it was very clear that I wasn't. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.

What genre is Beyonc's new album, Renaissance Act II
If the cowboy hat she wore to the Grammys last week wasn't a big enough clue, the single cover art for her new songs has proved that Queen Bey is entering her country era. After dropping a dance record with Renaissance, Renaissance Act II will see the star lean into her humble Houston roots.
The first two singles both lean into the country vibe, particularly "Texas Hold 'Em," which opens with a blues-style acoustic guitar.
Renaissance Act II release date
In one of the videos Beyonc shared on Instagram, she confirmed that Act II will officially drop on March 29, 2024-just weeks before fellow music icon, Taylor Swift is set to drop her next album, The Tourtured Poets Department. What a year for pop music!
