BBC presenter Lukwesa Burak has shared a horrific incident that left her son bleeding.

The broadcaster, 50, keeps her personal life largely out of the highlight but took to social media on Friday to share how 'heartbroken' she was after the vile assault, saying it was racially motivated.

She wrote: 'I'm on my knees. Broken.

'WHAT IS BLOODY WRONG WITH THE HUMAN RACE?

'My son was attacked for being a n***** in Melbourne, the worst pain on the earth.

'KICKED IN THE HEAD. I CANT SCREAM LOUD ENOUGH.'

She added within the comments: 'My baby's face was coated in blood. Heartbroken. WHY? WHY?'

Lukwesa's colleagues and followers rushed to the feedback to share their help with Jeremy Vine present guest and activist Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu writing: 'OMG! Kicked in the head?! I'm so sorry Lukwesa! Is he okay? I hope the racist bastards are caught! I'm screaming!'

TV star India Willoughby stated: 'So sorry. What is mistaken with individuals? Sending love – hope he's okay x.'

BBC presenter Anjana Gadgil added: 'I'm so sorry Lukwesa, that is horrible. Ideas with you and your son x.'

Lukwesa shares few pictures of her family on social media, however in current months, posted beaming footage as a proud mom.

She wrote in one: 'I do know I embarrass him, continuous but my Baby makes me so proud. Unsure where 20 years have gone!'

In another, posted in October, she dropped her son off at the airport, writing: 'The best love you may give your youngster is to let them go…. ❤️
