One of many stars of Avatar: The Last Airbender has cleared up speculation about his character following fury from fans over the apparent removing of 'sexism' from his storyline.
Virtually 20 years ago, an animated collection about an individual with the facility to harness the four parts was launched, introducing the world to the titular character Aang, in addition to fan-favourites including Katara, Sokka and Zuko.

'I feel that the essence of the character that Sokka is, is 100% the character that's portrayed within the live-action version of the present,' he stated.
'I feel the fans are a bit of fearful that there's going to be modifications in who Sokka is, and I don't really assume that's been the case at all in our show.
'Clearly it's totally different from an animated show to a live-action in those ways, but the coronary heart and soul of the animation show is the breath that we're all enjoying into.'
The 21-year-old continued, outlining how Sokka's attitudes do evolve as time goes on.
'I feel that we've turned these in several directions in the best way that… we will't fit every single arc of each single thing from the animated show. However the essence of him continues to be there,' he said, as his fellow forged members Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio and Dallas Liu nodded in settlement.
'He's an overprotective older brother, and that's sort of proven in the best way that he doesn't really trust Katara perhaps initially, feeling like he's the in-charge man of Southern Water Tribe.
'[He] undoubtedly nonetheless will get humbled in ways and learns that ladies may be powerful. I'm just excited for individuals to observe it and get their own tackle that exact thing that I do know that individuals are apprehensive about.'
Throughout a current interview, Kiawentiio, 17 – who plays waterbender Katara, the sister of Sokka – stated: 'I feel like we also took out the component of how sexist [Sokka] was. I feel like there were lots of moments in the unique present that have been iffy.'
Ian had additionally advised Entertainment Weekly that he needed to ensure that Sokka came throughout as 'humorous', including: 'There's extra weight with realism in every approach.'
