College football recruit Mason Alexander, 18, dies in horror car crash two months after signing with team


University of Pittsburgh football recruit Mason Alexander has died following a car accident. Alexander, 18, signed with Pitt in December and had enrolled early in the school. He died Saturday night in Fishers, Indiana after a vehicle he was a passenger in swerved off the road, hit a tree and caught on fire, ESPN reported, citing the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office. The accident reportedly came after the BMW which Alexander was in tried to pass a another car, before swerving to avoid a head-on collision with a third vehicle traveling the opposite direction.
