Paul Mescal narrates new Gucci film
'Who is Sabato De Sarno? A Gucci Story' gives a glimpse into the new chapter of the house.

A NEW DOCUMENTARY followsSabato De Sarno's beginnings at Gucci, giving an intimate look into the designer's process in the run up tohis very first collectionfor the Italian fashion house. The short film has been directed by Ariel Schulman and Henry Joost, and was narrated by actor and Gucci ambassador, Paul Mescal.
Who is Sabato De Sarno? A Gucci Story features never-before-seen footage of Sebato at work as he prepared to present a brand new look for the brand with his spring/summer 2024 Gucci Ancora collection.
"Emphasising teamwork as a core value, the film showcases the collaborative efforts of Sabato De Sarno and his dedicated team, highlighting the collective passion and dedication behind the creative process," the brand said. "Through their lens, the film captures the essence of the fashion world's allure, inviting audiences to explore the magic behind the curtains while getting to know Gucci's new creative director as he shares his personal experience, revealing his passions and vision for the iconic brand."
De Sarno was appointed creative director in January of last year, and presented his first collection for the house in September. He took over from Alessandro Michele, who had been at the helm of the brand for eight years, and became known for a maximalist style. This was worlds away from De Sarno's first collection, which was more minimalist and classic.
Who is Sabato De Sarno? A Gucci Storylooks at this new chapter for the house, how his vision came to life and the extensive work that went into creating the collection. The 20-minute film premiered onMubilast week, while there will also be screenings in major cities across the globe, and the film will be able to watch on all Air France flights for the whole of April.
