By the time the Freaky Friday sequel, Freakier Friday, arrives in theaters in August 2025, 22 years will have passed since the remake's premiere. Jamie Lee Curtis, 66, explained why fans have had to wait more than two decades for the sequel during an appearance on TODAY on Thursday, Dec. 12, while promoting her films The Last Showgirl and The Sticky. "We couldn't have made this movie until now, because Lindsay [Lohan] had to be old enough to have a 15 year old," Curtis emphasized.
