The British royals have been accused of doctoring another image, this time of the late Queen Elizabeth II and her grandchildren.

IT'S SAFE TO SAY it's been a dramatic month for the British royal family, but just as the dust begins to settle on the Kate Middleton conspiracies, the palace has been accused of yet another photoshop fail.
On Tuesday, international image agency Getty flagged a photograph of the late Queen Elizabeth II with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as being: "digitally enhanced at source."
Getty Images has reviewed the image in question and placed an editor's note on it, stating that the image has been digitally enhanced at source, a spokesperson for the wire photo agency said.

CBS notes several indicators the image was doctored including misalignments in the couch, digital repetition of Mia Tindall's hair, a soft blur around the edge of Prince Louis' face and neck, and an apparent distortion in the Queen's tartan skirt.
The image was released by the palace on April 21, 2023 in honour of what would have been the Queen's 97th birthday. However, it was reportedly taken by the Princess of Wales in August of 2022.
In addition to the monarch, the photo features Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Lady Louise Windsor, Savannah Phillips, Isla Phillips, Lena Tindall, Mia Tindall, Lucas Philip Tindall, and James, Earl of Wessex.
The notice comes after Kate was accused of photoshopping a recently released portrait of herself and her three children.
On January 17, Kensington Palace announced that Kate would be taking some time away from royal duties to recover from a planned abdominal surgery. It was noted that she likely wouldn't return to the public eye until after east, at the very least. However, in late February jokes about her whereabouts began to spread.
Seemingly in order to quash speculation, Kensington Palace released a photograph of Kate with Princess Charlotte and Princes George and Louis, in honour of the UK's Mother's Day on March 10. The caption posted to Instagram said the snap was taken by Prince William in 2024.
Only 24 hours after it was posted, several major news wire services issued a mandatory kill notice for the image, claiming it had been digitally manipulated by the source (more on that here).
In a statement posted to the couple's X (formerly Twitter) account a day later, it was confirmed that the photo had been edited.
It was signed with a C for Catherine and read: Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother's Day.
The palace did not clarify what part of the image was edited, or why Kate had edited an image that William had reportedly taken.
Why are the royal family editing their photos?
There are countless conspiracy theories about why the palace edited the first Mother's Day photo, with the recent revelation of the doctored image of the Queen only adding confusion.
In her statement, Kate claimed she was simply experimenting with editing.
It is worth noting that both photographs that have been flagged for digital manipulation contain children. Anyone who has tried to get one child to look at a camera for more than a few seconds-let alone three, or ten-will understand the difficulty. It would be plausible that several photographs have simply been stitched together to get one image where all children are smiling or looking at the camera-however this is only a theory and has not been confirmed by the palace.
One X user speculated that the commemorative photo "never happened" at all. They wrote on the platform: This photo of Queen with her white grandchildren never happened. Queen Elizabeth was photographed sitting ALONE on this green sofa. After her death, photos were taken of these kids (minus Louis) around this sofa. Then Kate Middleton manipulated different photos to create 1 photo.
