Emily Blunt & Florence Pugh 'confuse' fans with 'back brace' trend at Oscars as fans beg stars to 'fire their stylist'
EMILY Blunt and Florence Pugh have strapped themselves in for some Oscar criticism, after fans slammed their gowns.
The actresses each went with a unique look, including floating shoulder straps that came off as ill-fitting.

Both wore off-white gowns highlighted by large straps that seemed to float above their shoulders.
The look led to many confused comments on X, the platform formerly known at Twitter.
"What is up with Emily Blunt and Florence Pugh wearing those dresses with the weird straps?" one person tweeted. "Why they look like that?"
"Emily Blunt got that back brace energy," another person commented.
"The floating straps remind me of ill-fitting life jackets," a third added.
One person noted, "Love her but my god it looked like she was strapped into a rollercoaster."
While one demanded, "Who is Emily Blunt's stylist because they need to be fired for disrespecting my girl."
BLUNT RESPONSE
Emily's stylist expected the reaction to be blunt.
Jessica Paster, who has worked with Blunt for 18 years, toldVanity Fair the pair got just what they wanted – to be talked about outside of the show.
"Sometimes we don't play it safe," Jessica boasted. "At this point of years of being with Emily, we can go have fun with fashion.
"Did I know that people were going to talk about the shoulder? Absolutely. Do I care what anybody else has to say? Absolutely not."
Jessica contends at the end of the day, Emily looked beautiful.
STONE BROKE
At least Emily and Florence were able to keep their gowns in one piece.
The same could not be said for Emma Stone, who was left shaking after she suffered a major wardrobe malfunction during her win at the 2024 Academy Awards.
TheHollywoodstar, who wonBest Actressfor herrole as Bella BaxterinPoor Things, pointed out her "broken" dress after taking to the stage to collect her award.
"My dress is broken," she said through tears while hugging former Best Actress winners.
The La La Land actress then jokingly revealed why she thinks it ripped in the first place adding, "I think it happened during I'm Just Ken. I'm pretty sure."
After thanking her fellow cast members and her family, Emma, 35, pleaded that no one paid attention to her fashion mishap.
"Don't look at the back of my dress," she said as she turned away from the mic and hid the rip with her hand.
The actress still looked stunning in a green strapless gown by Louis Vuitton despite the mishap.
She paired it with a 30-carat yellow diamond choker necklace.
The Easy A star also shouted out to her daughter in a sweet tribute referencing Taylor Swift at the end of her speech.
Sunday night's win was her second for Best Actress.
Emma also also took home the trophy in 2016 for her role in the musical film La La Land.
